OPEN CALL: 2018 Month of Photography Los Angeles Group Show

Month of Photography Los Angeles is accepting submissions for the annual Group Show for it's 10th Anniversary Edition! The MOPLA Group Show is a submission based exhibition featuring both emerging and established photographers. This exhibition is organized by the Lucie Foundation. 

DEADLINE:  November 30, 2017 at 12am PST

WHO CAN APPLY:

The MOPLA Group Show Open Call is open to both emerging and established photographers worldwide over the age of 18. 

SUBMIT IN THREE EASY STEPS:

1. Complete the submission form with your personal info. 

2. Upload 1-20 digital images.

3. Pay the $20 submission fee. 


TERMS & CONDITIONS: 

All participants in Month of Photography Los Angeles agree to allow Lucie Foundation to exhibit and offer for sale original photographs produced by the artist. The artworks will be made available for sale at the retail price assigned by the artist.  Lucie Foundation and the Artist agree to split the sales percentage equally (50/50).

No, you may submit as many entries as you like.

How should I prepare my files?
Please prepare your files according to the specifications below.
  • JPG only, NO TIF, GIF, PNG, PDF files will be accepted.
  • 72 DPI
  • 800 pixels on the longest side
  • RGB, Grayscale, Black and White accepted, no CMYK.
  • Naming your files: Firstname, Underscore, Lastname, Number. For Example: John_Smith_1.jpg, John_Smith_2.jpg up to the corresponding number of images you are submitting.
Can I send print materials, books or CDs?
No, MOPLA accepts online submissions only.

When will the curation be announced? 
Selected artists will be notified in January 2018, and the list of confirmed artists will be published in February 2018. 

How will I know if my submission was selected? 
If your submission was selected to participate in MOPLA, you will be contacted directly through the email which you provided in the submission form.

When and where will the festival take place? 
The Tenth Anniversary Edition of MOPLA will take place in April 2018 throughout the city of Los Angeles. 

When and where will the MOPLA Group Show take place? 
The exact date and location for the MOPLA Group Show is TBA!

By submitting to the MOPLA Group Show or Host Space Open Calls, you agree that we can potentially curate a selection of images from your submission for Pro’jekt LA, MOPLA's very own projection series. Through Pro'jekt LA photography will be projected on walls and outdoor spaces throughout Los Angeles during MOPLA.

Submit a thematic body of work for exhibition consideration in one of our "host space" galleries!

WHO CAN APPLY:

The MOPLA Host Space Exhibition Open Call is open to both emerging and established photographers and curators worldwide over the age of 18. Eligible submissions should be framed and ready to exhibit and can belong to one photographer or a group of photographers. 

SUBMIT IN THREE EASY STEPS:

1. Complete the submission form with your personal info. 

2. Upload up to 30 digital images.

3. Pay the $20 submission fee. 


Selected Host Space Exhibitions will be Official MOPLA programming co-produced by the MOPLA team and the artist(s) and/or curator. Host Space Exhibitions will be included in the annual catalogue in addition to the MOPLA website, calendar, weekly newsletters and social media promotion.

Month of Photography Los Angeles is accepting submissions for a juried Official MOPLA Exhibition dedicated to the photo book. 

DEADLINE: November 30, 2017


WHO CAN APPLY:

Submit books that were independently or commercially published and distributed from anywhere in the world within the last 24 months. 

Eligible books include - self published, handmade, exhibition catalogues, book dummies, zines, and limited/special edition photo books. 

In addition to the online submission form, all books must be sent to the Lucie Foundation office (address below) and postmarked by November 30, 2017.
